The Ohio State Buckeyes will pay the Colorado Buffaloes $1.4 million to play next year at The Big Horseshoe.
It is not part of a home-and-home agreement, which is probably why Ohio State had to pay to get the Buffaloes to come.
Usually, Ohio State only has to pay non-conference opponents between $400,000 and $750,000 to come play without a home-and-home agreement.
The deal works out well for Colorado because they are strapped for cash and set to move from the Big 12 to the Pac-10. (Read More…)

It was a tight contest throughout Friday night. At the end, Ohio State’s brilliant star couldn’t save his teammates.
Evan Turner’s 3-pointer at the finish was blocked by J.P. Prince, and Tennessee stunned the Buckeyes Friday night in the Midwest Regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament in St. Louis, ending Ohio State’s season, 76-73.
The Buckeyes (29-8) led by three at halftime, but never could go on one of their sustained runs to separate from the Volunteers, who advance to the Elite Eight for the first time. Turner finished with 31 points, 21 coming in the second half as he shouldered most of the offensive burden.
Turner also led Ohio State with seven rebounds and five assists. The rest of the Buckeyes combined to shoot 3-for-16 in the second half, as Turner kept Ohio State in the game.
But it wasn’t enough, as the Buckeyes’ season comes to a disappointing end. And while there is no shame in losing in the Sweet 16, with earlier losses by Kansas and Georgetown the road to Indianapolis was open for the Buckeyes.

Fifteen victories in their past 16 games have the Ohio State Buckeyes thinking big things.
Like running the streak to 19 out of 20. Doing that would land the Buckeyes the national championship.
One of the hottest teams in the nation, the Buckeyes (29-4) look to continue their winning ways when the NCAA Tournament shifts to St. Louis for the Midwest Regional semifinals on Friday against Tennessee. A victory there would thrust Ohio State into the Elite Eight, putting the Buckeyes just one win from the Final Four in Indianapolis.
Following a 71-65 loss at West Virginia on Jan. 23, the Buckeyes are 15-1, the lone loss coming by three points against Purdue on Feb. 17.
Since that loss, the Buckeyes have run off nine consecutive victories, including wins over California Santa-Barbara and Georgia Tech in the first two rounds of the NCAAs.

With both the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds already eliminated from their region, the Ohio State Buckeyes have become the clear favorite to advance to the Final Four.
If their performance on Sunday is any indication, they’ll handle those expectations with ease.
Ohio State shook off a slow start to put away No. 10 Georgia Tech, 75-66. The Buckeyes were led by probably national player of the year Evan Turner, who shook off a poor performance in the first round to go off for 24 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in leading the Buckeyes to the Sweet 16, where they will face No .6 Tennessee.
Jon Diebler added 20 points and David Lighty had 18 for Ohio State, which shot 49 percent and hit 17 of 23 free throws in the win. The Buckeyes also outscored the Yellow Jackets by 12 from beyond the arc, building a comfortable lead and never looking back after holding a slight two-point advantage at the half.
